Many who do not reside in the hunting world ofter believe that hunters only care about the kill, the sport, or the food.
Seldom do people think hunters care about the game (animal) they chase.
There are three reasons for why hunting still exists today: The Chase, The Beauty, and The Legacy.
It is known that in the US, hunting for many is not the same necessity as it used to be. However, ask any hunter, they will tell you hunting is still necessary, just for a reason that is popularly overlooked. Every hunter understands, that without the hunter, there is no conservation; and without conservation, the chase, beauty, legacy, and the game being chased, no longer exists.
Obviously hunters take pride in their sport, however it is beyond the fun they take whilst chasing their game. Hunters hunt to stay primal, to put food in their homes. more hunters than not follow the code of, if you aren't going to eat it, don't shoot it.
Any hunter will tell you about their excitement for open season. If you search deeper, it is beyond just the game.
There is such beauty in every animal harvested. From the moment you lay eyes on your game, to the moment you touch the once living animal with the very tips of your fingers. The beauty comes from not just the physical and obvious beauty of looks, but from the beauty of knowing that harvest once had a meaningful life; one you were blessed to take for the enrichment of your own life as a hunter.
Beyond the animal itself, there are also the destinations of which the game will take you. Some of the most beautiful settings are the once experienced while hunting. Full immersion in the setting the game takes you is ultimately more beautiful than any postcard destination because of the fully nature filled retreat you receive.
Hunting is more than a hobby, or an activity. Hunting is a lifestyle that has been passed down for generations since the dawn of time.
Every experienced hunter greatly understands the importance of quality conservation and the level of work it requires to provide effective conservation. Hunting and conservation works hand in hand, and it is the legacy of the hunter that keeps conservation alive.
